Intro Berdimusic
Bridgerton (Scoring competition): To create the right atmosphere for this scene, I have researched the harmonies and instruments used at the beginning of the 19th century, the time in which the series is set. I have composed for a symphony orchestra, incorporating harp or English horn in certain passages, while trying to give it a dose of freshness and contemporary air.
Charro Negro: A piece inspired by a romantic story from the Mexican legend El Charro Negro, a mythical character that symbolizes the fight between good and evil. I have used sounds from Spanish and electric guitars to give it emotion and strength, and distant trumpets, strings and choirs to evoke a dark and mysterious atmosphere.
232.8 ºC: A dystopian piece inspired by the temperature at which paper burns, a tribute to both Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451” and George Orwell’s “1984”. Based on a piano ostinato, which is joined by other elements such as strings, low brass and percussion to increase the intensity while maintaining a somewhat psychotic and emotional feel.
Petricor: Composition evoking nostalgia, which seeks to reconstruct with the sound of Spanish guitars and processed pianos the sensation produced by the smell of rain on dry ground (Petricor), on an autumn afternoon.
The Lock: Designed to accompany the development of a tense situation, gradually intensifying the instrumentation by introducing classic and industrial effects and sounds, in which a door needs to be opened to escape from a situation of imminent danger.
Freedom: This piece tries to reflect a situation where hope and rupture are mixed. I use classical instrumentation, Spanish guitar, bells and a subtle touch of piano.
Réquiem de corazones: Composition for string quartet (cello, viola, and two violins), which seeks to express the conflicting emotions of a romantic farewell and the longing for freedom.
Fuera de la realidad: Song for a rock band (guitar, bass, drums and vocals), which retrospectively talks about the development and outcome of a relationship, evoking sensations and emotions that endure.
